Edward Allen Husted, son of Oliver and Angeletta Husted was born June 16, 1869 in Putnam County Missouri and passed away August 6 at 6:15 PM at his home in Fremont Iowa, at the age of 78 years, after an illness of more than three years, and an invalid for more than two years. He lived in and around Albia for the past 19 years and for the past 11 months he has lived in Fremont.

He was married to Sarah Ellen Cowan August 11, 1890. To this union seven children were born, Mrs. Osa Shafer of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Essie Bogard of Marshalltown, Mrs. Opal Milmicke of Bussey and Martha (deceased); Frank of Oskaloosa, Orloff of Aurora, Illinois, and Charles (deceased). His wife Sarah, also preceded him in death in 1902. He was later married to Olive Ann Davis and to this union were born six children. He leaves his wife and six children, Merrit of Fremont, Mrs. Glenn Brown of Des Moines, Mrs. Bernie See of Albia, Mrs. Elsie Martin, Floy and Nellie and grandson Stanley at home. He also has six stepchildren, Mrs. Kenneth Brandon of Drakesville, Iowa; Mrs. Eva Winn of Oskaloosa; Alma Moore (deceased); Leonard of Rose Hill; Lester of Ottumwa and Charlie of Illinois. He also leaves a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the U.B. church in Albia and burial was in Oak view cemetery there. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. C. Hall and Wandell Powers. The services were conducted by Rev. C.L. Young of Albia and Rev. Harper of Fremont.
