Nana Kate Chandley, 79, of the Asheville Highway, Greeneville, died Monday at her home after an extended illness with family by her side.

Mrs. Chandley retired from MECO after 23 years of service.

She was a member of Community Fellowship Church.

"She was a very loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend to the many who knew her. She had many passions in life but none more than working in her flower beds," her family stated.

Mrs. Chandley was the widow of Arbrey "Footsie" Chandley, who died Jan. 31, 1997.

Survivors include her daughter: Tammy Jones of Greeneville; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Kenny Chandley and Terry and Debbie Sauceman, all of Greeneville, and Jerry and Toni Sauceman of Erwin, N.C.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, including two special grandchildren: Angie Chandler and Mikayla Chandler, whom she raised, and Jackie and Kendra Sauceman of Greeneville, Casey and Doyle Carter of Mohawk, Tyler Sauceman of Greeneville, Jeremy and Katy Sauceman of Greenville, S.C., and Tonya Hodges and Sherry and John Hayes, all of Erwin, N.C.; 13 great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Carter, Doyle Carter, Kailee Carter; Ian Sauceman, Chelsey Sauceman, David Sauceman, Zack Seaton, and Chase Seaton, all of Greeneville, and Amber Johnson, Brett Johnson, Caden Hodges, Heather Hays, and Stephanie Hays, all of North Carolina; one brother and sister-in-law: Johnny and Ann Cutshall of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Mary Cutshall; a daughter: Patricia Diane Sauceman; and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 and from 7-9 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Hubert Metcalf will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Sauceman, Jeremy Sauceman, Tyler Sauceman, Travis Gregg, Josh Morgan, and David Tweed.
