His siblings were Bertha, Lassie, and Elsie, He married Ethel Hanners. Their children were Ernestine, Norma Jeanette, and Geraldine. Carl was a well-loved teacher who died of a heart condition when he was only thirty-two years old. He was sadly missed by those who had the privilege to have been his students.
