Services celebrating the life of Johnie Bryan Stephens, 87, will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the Chapel at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Marshall Street. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Waggener. Interment will follow at Forest Park, St. Vincent. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 10am to 11am at the funeral home.

Johnie went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 9, 2013. She was a wonderful Christian lady who truly exhibited the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.

Johnie was born on May 7, 1925 in Quitman, Louisiana to parents John T. Bryan and Stella Knight Bryan. Johnie was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle R. Stephens, sisters, Mildred Dale and husband, H.D. "Buddy" Dale, Nellie Miller and husband, John D. Miller. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Elizabeth D. Stephens of Shreveport, LA, Cynthia S. Wesley and husband, John Wesley of Texarkana, TX; grandson, John Andrew Wesley of New York, NY; great-nephew, Jerry D. Walters of Shreveport, LA; and nieces, Martha Miller and Patsi Benson of Newport News, VA. Johnie is also survived by her special and loving caregiver, Chancey Case.

Honoring Johnie as pallbearers will be John Wesley, John Andrew Wesley, Stephen Wesley, Jerry Walters, and Jerry Antee.
