He worked 33 years for Yamhill County and helped organize the county fair in McMinnville.
He was a member of the Newberg Eagles, serving as president for two terms.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey, whom he married in 1968; sons, Jerry of McMinnville and Terry of Newberg; daughter, Patty Wear of McMinnville; sisters, Margaret and Regina Wilson, both of Newberg, and Lizzy Harrison of Bismarck, N.D.; brother, Frank of Tillamook; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Chapel of Macy & Son. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, McMinnville.
