Daniel Orson Lance passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Jan. 4, 2010, with his loving family by his side. Dad was born to Charles and Edna Lance on Feb. 2, 1919, in Hanksville, Utah, the second of 11 children.


Married Mabel Ewell on Sept. 27, 1941. Sealed in the Manti Temple on April 18, 1942. Married 68 years.


Dad served in the Navy in World War II. Dad was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony and held many church positions including serving a mission. Dad was a good example and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to everyone.


He is survived by his wife Mabel; children: Sharlene (Everett) Peterson, Terrell (Donna) Lance, Dennis (Carol) Lance and Trudy Pendleton; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, a brother Allie Lance and a sister Fern Malcom. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9 at noon in the Valley View Stake Center, 332 East 1000 North. A viewing will be held at the church from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial in the Tooele City Cemetery. We love you Dad and we'll miss you.
