A graduate of Smith College, she had worked at Washington Federal Savings and Loan as a bank officer; she was the first woman president of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers in Florida; was president of Renanah Chapter of Hadassah; on the board of Miami Beach Region of Hadassah; served as president of Emma Lazarus Chapter of B'nai Brith; and was active in South Shore Hospital and True Sisters.
She and her late husband were survivors of the sinking of the cruise ship Morro Castle in 1934.
She leaves a son, Robert Cohen and his wife Elisa of Jersey City, NJ; a daughter, Susan Cohen and her husband Malcolm of NY; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 27, 12 Noon in Beth Israel Cemetery, Ward and Affleck Streets, Hartford. A procession to the cemetery will leave at 11:30 a.m. from the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. A memorial period will be held at the home of Gerry Cohen, Wednesday evening, 7-9 p.m., 101 Foxcroft Road, West Hartford.
