In loving memory of my Great Aunt Nanny. I simply called her Aunt Nanny, (that's what my mom called her) because she was married to my Grand Uncle Victor Steele, who was the brother of my grandmother, Lona Elizabeth Steele. However, before Aunt Nanny was married to Victor, she was my 1st cousin twice removed, because she was the daughter of my great grand uncle Nathaniel Bond, who was the brother of my great grandfather John Wilson Bond.

Aunt Nanny was a devout Christian woman and she was very dear to me. She loved the Lord with all her heart. I miss her very much & I'm happy to know that I will someday see her again in paradise, as I visited her often, while she was still here with us on Earth.
One day, back in 1988, my aunt Marcella Hedger, asked me if I would transfer her & uncle Jesse Hedger's home movies from 8mm film to VHS tape. While showing her the home movies after I had completed them, Aunt Marcella says to me "You know, your Aunt Nanny has some 8mm home movies from back in the 1950s, of when her and Victor, Fred & Lona drove out to Oklahoma to pick up your great grandma and brought her back here to Florence, Kentucky. You could see if she will let you see them but I doubt she will ever turn loose of them & let them out of her house." WOW! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Home movies of my Grandmother, who died in 1971, and home movies of my Great Grandmother Emma May, who died before I was even born? I just smiled at Aunt Marcella and told her "She will let ME borrow them". I knew this because I went to visit my aunt Nanny often. Sure enough, when I asked Aunt Nanny about the films, she said she'd 1st have to check with her son Ed & daughter Ora, to make sure they wouldn't mind her letting me borrow them. Well they didn't mind, and Aunt Nanny graciously allowed me to take them all home with me so I could put them onto a VHS tape. Afterwards, along with my camcorder, I took them back to show them to Aunt Nanny. Her son Ed Steele was there, along with his wife Wilma Jean. Since Aunt Nanny didn't even have a VCR, I used my camcorder to show her the tape I had created. Little did she know, I planned on dubbing in audio to the tape, as she watched and told us who everyone was.
Now with today's technology, I have transferred the VHS tapes to DVD, and then onto my computer. I am happy to share these most precious home movies with anyone who is interested in seeing them.
