Springfield, Ill. -- Winifred "Dude" Overton, 65, of Noble, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her loving family, at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Funeral services at Cornerstone Community Church in Noble with Dr. Berton Heleine officiating. Burial in Hanna Cemetery in Noble.
Mrs. Overton was born February 16, 1947, in Okmulgee, Okla., the daughter of Kenneth & Winnie (Newton) Boner. She married Leo Overton on December 12, 1965. He survives.
She was a retired bookkeeper at the Regional Office of Education #12 and a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Noble. She was a member of the Richland County Democratic Party and enjoyed spending her time working in her flower garden, attending various sporting events for her grandchildren, holding her dog Missy, and visiting with her many friends. Her children and grandchildren were most precious to her.
Mrs. Overton is survived by her husband, Leo Overton, of Noble; son, Marty Overton and wife Mona, of Noble; daughter, Jana Baker and husband Randy, of Noble; mother-in-law, Lois Overton, of Olney; and grandchildren, Lindsay Overton, Hayley Breeden and husband Gregery, and Maci Baker and Cade Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Boner II, and an infant sister.
