Obituary from the Elizabethton Star Online: Robert L. Kreyenbuhl, 66, 1642 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, died Sunday, December 23, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Kreyenbuhl was a native of Deer Park, MD, and had lived in Elizabethton since 1983. He was the son of the late Leo Silas and Virginia Belle Trickett Kreyenbuhl. Mr. Kreyenbuhl was a retired Project Manager for Flame Refractories, Inc. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1956. Survivors include his wife, Sophia Kreyenbuhl, of the home; three daughters, Kathryn Gardner, Johnson City, Angela Conroy, Furman, VA, and Suzanne Grindstaff, Elizabethton; a son, Ron Boyd, Harriman, TN; six grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl and Johanna Kreyenbuhl, Petersburg, WV, and Jim Kreyenbuhl, Oakland, MD; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Jean and Denny Brown, Laytonsville, MD, Mary L. and Douglas Bean, Romney, WV, and Martha C. and Howard Johnson, Oakland, MD; an aunt, Sally Trickett Cox, Hubbard, OH; and a special nephew and spouse, Steven Shane and Cheri Snow, Ft. Drum, NY. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, 211 North Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, (423) 543-4917, is in charge of arrangements.

Kreyenbuhl, 66, 1642 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, December 23, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Dr. Kenneth W. LaDuke officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be A.B. Grindstaff, Mike Babb, Bobby Babb, Joey Andrews, Steven Shane Snow and Bill Grindstaff. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Welch. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. Friends may also call at the residence at any time.
