Michael Eugene "Mike" Toon

SOUTHLAKE - Michael "Mike" Eugene Toon of Southlake, Texas was born on Oct. 4, 1948 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at the age of 64.

Mike graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas in 1966. He obtained a B.A. Degree in economics from Austin College in Sherman, Texas - Class of 1970. At Austin College, Mike was a four-year letterman in both football and baseball and received the Austin College "Pete Cawthon" Award for excelling in dual sports and leadership in 1970. In 1999, Mike was inducted in to the Austin College Athletic Hall of Honor. He served as President of the local fraternity, Drake, during his senior year. Additionally, Mike was passionate about the outdoors; an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as, tennis player and golfer.

Mike's long and distinguished career in the Commercial Real Estate Industry in North Texas included several Senior Vice President appointments with some of the most prestigious firms in the United States. Mike received numerous professional awards during his career.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Robin Toon of Grapevine, Texas; stepdaughter, Brianna Cannon and her husband Eric of Trophy Club, Texas; stepson, Trevor Haggerty of Ft. Worth, Texas; mother, Jean Kirk of McKinney, Texas; father and stepmother, Bill and Mary Toon of Lancaster, Texas; sister, Brenda Young and her husband, Eddie of Sherman; nephews Wes Young and his wife, Courtney, of Moore, Okla., Michael "Todd" Young and his wife, Ashley of Sherman, and Scott Young and his wife, Deanna of Pottsboro, Texas; aunts, Betty France of Cooper, Texas and Louise Lamar of Richardson, Texas along with many grand nieces and cousins. He is also survived by his father-in-law Pete Landau and his wife, Penny of Golden, Colo.; sisters-in-law Tressie Landau of Aurora, Colo., Kristie Bradford and her husband Chris of Aurora; nephew and nieces Dominic Carrasco of Ft. Worth, Emily, Megan and Tyler Bradford of Aurora. Mike is preceded in death by his stepfather, Clem Kirk.

A cremation memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at the Piazza In The Village chapel - 77 Piazza Lane, Colleyville, Texas 76034 (817-520-0026) with Marty Younkin officiating.
