Irvin Felix Cave, 85 year old retired farmer of the Palestine community, died Sunday, May 31 at 2:20 a.m. at the Rosary Hospital. He had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 2 at 2 p.m. from the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marshall Black and Rev. Miller in charge. Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery. He was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. The pallbearers were Halicy Caffee, Virgil Phillips, Malcomb Cave, Andy Caffee, Elijah Phillips, and Marshall Miller. Cave, son of the late William Cave and Nancy Bowles Cave, was born March 30, 1874 in Taylor County, Ky. He united in marriage to Maude Alice Hay on November 10, 1898 and she preceded him in death on October 3, 1936. Survivors include his children, Omer L. "Parker" Cave, Route 2; Mrs. Earl (Flossie) Cox, Route 6; Mrs. Hullett (Gladys) Graham, Finley, Rt. 1; and Miss Lela Cave, Cincinnati, Ohio. Also two brothers and five sisters, W. C. Cave, Rt. 2; Joe Cave, Pleasant Plains, Ill.; Mrs. Myrtie Caffee, Rt. 2; Mrs. Alex Phillips and Mrs. Mattie Miller, Campbellsville, and Misses Della and Lillie Cave, Route 2.

Mrs. Maude Alice Cave, daughter of Billie and Jane Hay, was born June 18, 1880 and departed this life October 3rd, 1936, at the age of 56 years. She was united in marriage to Ervin Cave November 10th, 1898. To this union eight children were born, four boys and four girls, three of which preceded her to the grave. Surviving are her husband and five children, Lewis, Omar, Gladys, Flossie, and Lela; two granddaughters, Dorothy Frances and Opal Lee; one sister, Mrs. George Trotter; five brothers, Awl and Dowen of this county; Tom and Henderson of Louisville; and John of Texas. She professed faith in Christ in the year 1914 and united with the Reid's Chapel church of which she lived a member until death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Palestine church by Rev. A. H. Gregory, followed by burial in the Palestine cemetery.

Lela Mae Cave, 79, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Irvin Cave and Maude Hay Cave, was born in Taylor County, Sept. 23, 1911. She died at 1:16 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 1991, in Elizabethtown. She was a member of the Merrimac Methodist Church. She is survived by four nieces: Christine Gabehart, Opal Wood, Edith Cave, and Glenda Giles, all of Campbellsville; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Lewis Cave, Omer Cave, and Lawrence Cave; and three sisters: Gladys Graham, Flossie Cox and Lottie Cave. The funeral was at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 4, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Landon Hadley officiating. Burial was in the Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery. He was a native of Taylor County, born March 8, 1909, the son of the late Irving Cave and Maude Hay Cave. Mr. Cave was married March 9, 1930, to Clair Richerson, who survives. He was with the Division of Forestry from 1959 to 1968. Besides his wife, Mrs. Clair Richerson Cave, he is survived by one daughter, Glenda Ann, at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Earl Cox and Mrs. Gladys Graham of Campbellsville and Miss Lelia Cave of Cincinnati, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, December 3, at the Lyon Funeral Home by the Rev. C. W. Devine. Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Tony Gaw, Danny Helm, J. D. Wilson, Bill Dingus, Raymond Thompson, and Richard Underwood. Honorary pallbearers were: W. J. Mitchell, H. B. Harris, C. E. He was a native of Taylor County, born May 8, 1909, and the son of the late Irvin Cave and Maude Hay Cave. Mr. Cave was married March 9, 1930, to Clara Richerson, who survives. Mr. Cave was employed with the Division of Forestry from 1959 to October, 1968. Besides his wife, Clara Richerson Cave, he is survived by one daughter, Glenda Anne, at home. A daughter, Dorothy Frances, preceded him in death May 8, 1937. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Earl Cox and Mrs. Heulett Graham of Campbellsville and Miss Lela Cave of Cincinnati, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, December 3, at the Lyon Funeral Home by the Rev. C. W. Devine. Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery.
