Both family members and slaves were buried in a cemetery on the Whitaker Plantation in Falls County, Texas. In the 1950’s, descendants did not remember the cemetery’s location or know if there were engraved markers. It is thought that the area eventually returned to farm land with no trace of the graves remaining. Michael Edd Bonner, great-great-grandson of Pleasant Clarke Whitaker. 10 February 2013
