Deventer - Funeral services were conducted today in East Prairie for a resident of the Deventer community, Elmer Toon, 56 years old, who died Saturday in a Sikeston Hospital.
Furneral services were conducted at St. Mary's Goretti Catholic Church in East Prairie. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Toon was born Dec. 12, 1912, in Mississippi County, where he was a lifelong resident.
On Aug. 8, 1941, he married Miss Iris Birdie, who survives.
Mr. Toon is also survived by five sons, Bill Toon, Richard Toon, Anthony Toon, James Toon and Charles E. Toon; three daughters, Miss Jennifer Toon, Mrs. Mary Ruth Richardson and Mrs. Julia Ann Shaw; his mother, Mrs Kate Toon and a granddaughter.
