RITES HELD SUNDAY FOR BENJAMIN T. STROMMEN
Last rites for Benjamin Theodore Strommen, aged 49, prominent Blanchardville farmer, were conducted at 1:15 Sunday afternoon at the Strommen home, and at 2 at the Adams Lutheran church. Rev. A. P. Anderson of Argyle officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Strommen passed away Wednesday, Dec 23, at a Madison hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He had been in ill health for eight months.

Benjamin Theodore Strommen, son of Andrew and Carrie Paulson Strommen, was born in the town of Blanchard, Jan. 31, 1898. On Oct. 2, 1918, he married Viola Vinger at Blanchardville. Rev. Urdahl read the service. Mr. Strommen had always resided on the Strommen homestead in the town of Blanchard. He was a member of the Adams Lutheran church, town clerk for 16 years, town treasurer three years, school clerk 15 years, director of the Blanchardville Co-op Ass'n 5 years and church trustee for 15 years.

Surviving are the widow, one son, Sylvanus Strommen at home, one daughter, Ruth Strommen, Blanchardville, three brothers, Rev. Peter A. Strommen, Lamberton, Minn., Clarence Strommen, Blanchardville, Ancil Strommen, Brodhead; and four sisters, Tilla (Mrs. Edwin) Hanson, Alma (Mrs. Sever) Moen, Argyle, Edna (Mrs. Roy) Hanson, Blanchardville, and Lulu (Mrs. Cyril) Skaar, Rockford. His parents, one daughter Evelyn, and two sisters, Lena (Mrs. Clarence Framstad) and Tillie in infancy preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were Kenneth, Raymond and Sanford Hanson, Eugene Moen, Kenneth Peterson and Vernus Strommen. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Tillman Paulson, Mrs. Frank Lindgren, and Cordelia Moen. Music was furnished by the Adams Lutheran church choir and songs were rendered by Clayton Moen.

The deceased was highly respected and well-liked by all who knew him. He was identified with many affairs of community interest and well-being, and devoted freely of his time and labor to things of community interest. Everyone was his friend. his death will leave a vacancy in the community as well as in the home.
