Services for Mrs. Jacob G.(Anna C.)
De Jong, 77, 711 East Second St.,
were Monday, Nov. 9, at the chapel
of Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home with
the Rev. Henry J. Vermeer and the
Rev. Richard A. De Jong officiating.
Interment was in Black Oak Township
Cemetery.
Mrs. De Jong died Friday, Nov. 6, 1970,
at the Pella Community Hospital.
She was born Feb. 3,1893, on a farm east
of Pella in Mahaska County, the daughter
of Evert Tysseling and Riktje Ten Bosch.
She married Jacob G. DeJong on Feb. 25, 1925.
They lived most of their married life in
rural areas of Pella and Leighton, where they
were living when De Jong died, Oct. 1, 1963.
Mrs. De Jong moved to 711 East Second St.
following his death.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents;
husband; three sisters, Mrs. Peter (Reaka)
Vande Haar, Mrs. Dirk (Bertha) VanHouweling,
and Mrs. C.S.(Lena) Van Hemert; and four brothers, Herman, Nicholas, Albert, and William Tysseling.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Audrey) Klein, Route 2, Pella, and Frances De Jong, Morehead, Ky.; two sons, Edward De Jong, 1112 North Prairie St., and Herman DeJong, Long Island City,
N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. George (Pearl) Van Dyk,
Oskaloosa; one brother, Edd Tysseling, 405 Union St.; and 10 grandchildren.
