The others lived to adulthood, and 7 came to America. Some took the surname of Johnson, others took the surname of Freedlund. Following the death of her husband in 1888, Petronella came to America to join her children here. Eventually she joined her son Per Aron Johannesson Freedlund in Ridgway, where he was the pastor of the Swedish Congregational Church.
Her burial in the Oakmont Cemetery is under the name of Freedlund, mother of Rev. A. J.
