JOHN B. SEARS
---John B. Sears, 80, of Atlanta, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999 at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
---Graveside services will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, east of Atlanta, with the Rev. Bob Welsh officiating.
---There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to be made in memory of John B. Sears to the Atlanta Baptist Church, or to the Loch Haven special Care Unit, Macon, Mo. Memorials may be left at or sent to the Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church Street, LaPlata, Mo. 63545, who is in charge of the services.
---He was born on Nov. 20, 1918 in Ashley, Ill., the son of Thomas and Edith (Butler) Sears.
---On Feb. 19, 1939 in Macon, he married Inez Butler. She survives.
---In addition to this wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil J. and Mary Ann Sears of Beaver Lake, Nev., and Richard and Susan Sears of Atlanta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jim McHenry of LaPlata, and Tamara and Dr. Kent Mulford of Atlanta; one sister, Marjorie Seary of Atlanta; 10 grandchildren, Marla Alberts, Justina Schmitt, Delight McDonald, LaTrisha Riggins, Jason McHenry, Darren Mulford, Stephanie Vickrey, Jason Sears, Eric Sears, and Casey Sears; nine great-grandchildren; and one cousin, Charity Richards of Seattle, Wash.
---In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Albietz and Marian Sears.
---"J.B." was a 1936 graduate of the Atlanta High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946. Before his retirement, he was an auditor for the Missouri Department of Revenue. He lived most all of his life in Atlanta where he attended the Atlanta Baptist Church.
