DIGHTON -- Lolita Durr, 88, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Hays Medical Center.
Born Dec. 26, 1911, in Lane County, she was the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (McCloud) Garton Sr.
She grew up in Lane County, graduated from Dighton High School, attended Fort Hays State University, and taught elementary school in Utica for three years and in Lane County for seven years.
After marrying Ronald D. Durr on Oct. 6, 1940, at Scott City, they lived in Laurel, Mont., before moving to a ranch in Colorado in 1944. Her husband died May 4, 1979. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Durr returned to Dighton in 1980. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dighton, and enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Dighton, with the Rev. Tod Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home.
