William E. Kimball spent many years in Batavia (now Jakarta), on the Island of Java. He became a Dutch citizen: William Eaton Kimball, by the Law of 29 April 1863 (Bulletin n°. 31) has been granted the status of a Dutchman, in fulfillment of the conditions laid down in Art. 9, first paragraph, of the law of 28 July, 1850 (Journal of n°. 44); issued the thirteenth day of June 1866 at The Hague. His wife has been variously named as Berinda or Dina; it appears it was actually Anna Bernardina Jeannette Leonarda van Beers. Franklin Eaton Kimball, a child of William and Anna's, died at Zeist (near Utrecht) 26 Jan 1952.
