Joe Kirk Cannon, age 52, passed away Friday November 9, 2012. Joe was born on June 7, 1960, in Odessa, Texas, to James R. and Joyce Evelyn Cannon. He was the light of their life. He passed away unexpectedly. Joe lived in Checotah, Oklahoma.

Joe graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Math and Computer Science from East Central University. After graduating, he taught school at Fort Gibson High School for 17 years. At present, Joe was employed with the US Postal Service, which he dearly loved. Joe had many friends and never met a stranger. Joe loved to fish with his Dad and his dear, long-time friend Gary Funburg.

Joe loved to talk about fishing with Gary. Joe loved animals. He had 5 dogs that he loved and they loved him. He had ducks, chickens and geese. He was also a beekeeper. Every year, he grew a garden and would work for hours in his garden loving every minute. He is going to be missed very much. He was the Rock of the Cannon family.

Preceded in death were: Joe's mother, Joyce Evelyn Cannon, who passed away September 29, 2006; grandparents, John and Brunell Cannon, and Ray and Orpha Pemberton and great-grandmother, Mary Walls, aka Granny Dutch.
