Mrs. Laura Emily Bell, 81, of Smiley died in a Cuero Hospital Friday noon.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Methodist Church in Smiley with Rev. George Howard of Wrightsboro officiating. Burial was in the Smiley cemetery with the Freund Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Bell was the daughter of W.J.D. Pierpont and Emily Daggett Pierpont, and was born in Wrigtsboro April 18, 1863.
She married J.T. Bell on Dec. 23, 1885, in Wrightsboro and ten children were born to the union, Eight of them survived as follows: Lloyd Bell and Herff Bell of Smiley, K.D. Bell of Smithville, J.D. of Corpus, A.R. Bell of Boerne, Murray Bell of San Antonio, Leric Bell of Dallas, and Mrs. Merle Grolich of Luling; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
