Joy E. (Singer) Myers, 87, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at IU Health Arnett Hospital surrounded by her family. Born November 5, 1925 in Sharpsville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Dwight Vernal and Luella (Williams) Singer and was a graduate of Monument City High School.
Joy married Ernest H. Myers on November 7, 1943 in Kokomo, IN. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2007. She worked in the Industrial Engineering Department at Purdue University for 18 years. She was a charter member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and Youth Group leader. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, a member of the former Home Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Post #11 Auxiliary, a member and past president of the North Park Home Economics Club, and for over 40 years a member of the Euchre Club.

Surviving are her two daughters, Connie Brewer and Gloria L. Smith (husband, Dennis) both of Lafayette; two sisters, Margaret Duncan of Sharpsville and Mary Lou Krajewski (husband, Bill) of Ft. Myers, FL, and a brother, Dwight Singer, Jr. (wife, Linda) of Kokomo. Also surviving are her 8 grandchildren, Brad and Craig Gott, David and Lisa Smith, Brenda Butler, William Fusiek, Betsy Kinsinger, and Brooke Yeater, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granchildren. Joy was preceded in death by a sister, Suzanna Sokol, and a brother, Charles Singer.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service, 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 3305 Longlois Drive, with Pastor Kevin Bowers officiating. Entombment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
