She was born on November 2, 1919, to John Walter and Sarah Louisa Collings Chaffin in Woodville, Idaho. She grew up in Rose, attended schools in Blackfoot, and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1938.
On May 27, 1938, she married Hubert (Bert) Fredrick Creasey in Rose, and they moved to Idaho Falls, where they resided until Bert retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1976, and they moved to Carson City, Nevada, to be closer to their oldest son. She returned to Idaho Falls in November 2001 to be closer to her sister June and other members of her family. She was a resident of the New Horizons Assisted Living Center until September 2002 when, for health reasons, she moved to the Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Den Mother for several years and loved working with the cubs in her den. Her hobbies included playing bridge and gin rummy with her family and close friends, exercising with the other ladies at the Senior Citizens Center in Carson City, Nevada, and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Bert R. (Berdeen) Creasey, Tamera M. (Mark) Evans, Angelia F. Barth, and Frank T. (Leslie) Creasey.
She is survived by two sons: H. Reg Creasey and Rodney F. Creasey of Carson City, Nevada, a sister, June (Homer) Johnson of Blackfoot, Idaho, 4 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and six sisters, her husband, and a grandson, Rodney F. Creasey, Jr.
Private family services will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2003 under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
