Cryus W. Stern, husband of Estella E. Stern, nee Haines, of 231 W. Linclon Highway, died yesterday in Coatesville hospital, after having been in failed health for the past three months. He was 87 years of age.
Born near Kembleville, he was a son of the late William and Thirzie Stern, and spent most of his life in Coatesville and vicinity.
Mr. Stern was a retired employe of the Patterson Parchment Paper company.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Anna, wife of Lawrence Kelso, of Coatesville; a son, Ernest M. Stern, of Pomeroy; a daughter, Mrs. Iona Ault, of Coatesville; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Laura Stern Beitler, of Mineral Springs.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from Archie S. Maclean's funeral home, Fifth avenue and Lincoln Highway. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening.
