J. L. BURCH DEAD
Yesterday afternoon shortly before 3 o'clock, one of Breckinridge County's oldest citizens died at the home of his son here in this city. Mr. Joseph Leslie Burch departed this life at the residence of J.L. Burch, on Fifth Street, of a complication of diseases. He was born in Wilson (Washington County?) KY, in October 1816, and for about forty years has been a resident of Breckinridge County. About three weeks ago he was brought to Henderson in the hope that a change might be beneficial to his health, but the hope was vain, and yesterday he died. Fourteen children blessed the union of Mr. Burch and his wife, of whom six survive. They are Messrs. J.L. Burch and V.E. Burch of this city, Paul Burch of Fort Smith, AR, and Christopher Burch and Mrs. Annie Beaven of Breckinridge County. Mr. Burch's descendants number more than two hundred and extend to the fifth generation, many of whom he had never seen. The funeral services will be held at the Holy Name Church tomorrow morning at 2 o'clock. Rev. E.J. Lynch will conduct the service. The interment will be at St. Louis Cemetery. - Wednesday's Henderson Journal.
