Funeral for Jessie Lee Lenox Knighten, 87, will be Thursday (today), Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Christian Church with the Rev. Roger Beason officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Valhermoso Cemetery.

Mrs. Knighten died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Summerford Nursing Home. She taught Sunday school for many years at Cotaco United Methodist Church. She was employed by G.C. Murphy's Stores in Huntsville and Decatur.
Mrs. Knighten was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil A. (Mutt) Knighten.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Knighten Jennings of Lacey's Spring; one son, Virgil Wayne Knighten of Lacey's Spring; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Jennings, Jackie Huskey, Alvin Morgan, Jason Knighten, Stacey Knighten and Joshua Jennings.
