He moved to Dallas in 1924. He served in the Army during WWII, then worked in his uncle's gold mine in Alaska. He moved to Albany in 1952 and worked for Linn Plywood, Bureau of Mines and Teledyne Wah Chang, where he retired in 1982. He was a member of the American Legion and United Steelworkers of America and enjoyed Western books and movies. Survivors include his wife, Marlene, whom he married in 1969; sons, Michael of Albany and Monte of Salem, Roger Grover of Tacoma, WA, Terry Grover of San Marcos, CA, and Sjon Grover of Beatty, NV; daughters, Micki Knuckles of Eugene and Londa Groah of Woodburn; sister, Zona Fischer of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
