The family moved to Galveston and finally settled in Austin, TX. On 14 Dec 1881 Maggie Collett married Francis Greenville "Frank" Morris in Austin. The census in 1910 and 1920 finds them in El Paso. It is unknown to me why they moved to El Paso.
NOTES:
You will see that her headstone says she was born in 1860 which must be an error. Family Bible records and her death certificate state she was born Sept. 12, 1859 which also agrees with the census records. Her death certificate shows her mother as Eliza but this is her stepmother who raised her.
This page was made several years ago in Evergreen Cemetery and completely disappeared from find-a-grave site. I called this a.m. 2-1-13 to verify that Maggie & husband were buried in this cemetery and all matched the information on the contract for purchase of plots by Mrs. Viola Sneed on 11 June 1923.
Under tombstone photo I have added documentation of who took the photo for me on Nov. 1, 2008.
