Florida McLendon Sheppard, 88, of Phenix City, formerly of the Josie Community, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 30, 2000 at Enon Baptist Church. Burial will be at
Enon Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, J.R. McLendon and Shelton Sheppard and one daughter, Mary Lee Smith.
Survivors include five daughters: Evelyn McDaniel of Banks, Burnese Hays, Mae Rolling, both of Phenix City, Rachel Renfroe of Kennesaw, Ga. and Nancy Bryant of
Birmingham; four sons: Robert McLendon of Albertville, Roy Mclendon of Phenix City, Reynolds McLendon of Prattville and Ray McLendon of Opelika; sister, Siddie Green of Columbus, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. There will also be a 30-minute lie-in-state at the church prior to the service on Monday. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
