Born around 1816. Son of Thomas Robert Adams and Levina Box. Married Louisa Jane Floyd.
His military records indicate that he enlisted on 1 Jun 1863 in Fredericksburg, VA. At that time, he was age 46, married, and he was a farmer who lived in Trout Creek, AL.
He was a private in Co. A, 10th AL Inf. Regt. He was captured on 2 or 5 Jul 1863 at Gettysburg, PA. Exchanged and died of disease at Petersburg, VA on 22 Aug 1863.
The records also state that he was a substitute for Serg. John F. Green.
His widow's pension application records state he died on 21 Aug 1863.

Blandford cemetery records indicate that he was born in Alabama. Pvt. Co. A, 10th Ala. Regt. Died at age 45. Buried on 22 Aug 1863.
