Cordelia's first husband Matt Jolly died at age 31 and is buried nearby in Old Mt. Vernon Cemetery. She remarried in 1887 to John Stillwell Buoy/Bowie and moved to Hill County, Texas shortly thereafter. John Bowie died in 1905 and is buried in an unknown location near Hubbard, Texas. Cordelia and her two daughters, Jessie and Margaret then returned to Kentucky where they lived with her father Frank Collier.
