Maggie Anne Higgins, of Magnolia Drive, passed away Thursday at Laughlin Healthcare Center.

She retired from Mead Corp. in Kingsport, where she spent most of her life.

Mrs. Higgins was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class of the church.

She was the daughter of the late Julia and Mike Looney and was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence Higgins; sisters: Roxie Wexler, Addie Humphreys, Clara Wilhoit, Cora Blue Johnson, Ruby LaFollette, and Ota Hensley; brothers: Ezra Looney, Claude Looney, Harold Looney, and Elmer "Bud" Looney; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is survived by a brother: William "Boss" Looney; and her nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home at 2 p.m. today to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for a 3 p.m. committal service. The Rev. David Woody will officiate.
