A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Saint Michael's Catholic Church for Wava Marie Hebert Abshire, 79, who went to be with the Lord at 9:41 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 at her residence in Buna, Texas. Her last moments were with her loved ones.
Fr. Jarod Suire will celebrate the Mass and the committal services at the Abshire Cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The family request visitation be observed from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Abshire was born February 24, 1933 to the late Felicien and Emma Smith Hebert in Egan, LA. She and Mason her husband of 61 years lived and raised their family in Beaumont, TX until their retirement, and moved to Hemphill, TX. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed doing crafts and listening and dancing to French Music. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband Mason Abshire, Sr. of Buna, TX; 2 daughters Linda Guidry and her husband Don of Buna, TX and Melba Potter and her husband mike of Orange, TX; 2 sons Mason Abshire, Jr. and his wife Nichole of Deville, LA and Milton Abshire and his wife Tammy of Beaumont, TX; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
