Beverley Trent Harper, 82, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday morning February the 14th, 2012 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Warnie and Mozella Firebaugh Trent and her brother Warren E. Trent.
She is survived by her husband Donald and two sons, Gary (Carol) Harper of Roanoke, Larry (Mary Ann) Harper of Denver, CO). Three grandsons Bradley (Susan) Harper of Fincastle, Ben Harper (Allison) of Denver, CO., Samuel Harper (Carolyn) of Waco, Texas. Also great grandson Ashton and great granddaughter Addison Harper of Fincastle. Step grandchildren Scott and Melinda Puig as well as Step great grandchildren Jacob, Christian, Gavin and Ethan Puig. Special Sister-in-law Jean Trent of Roanoke, nephew Alan Trent and his two Daughters Christi Trent of Roanoke, Nicole Trent of New Hampshire. Ex-daughter-in-law Jenean Blackmon (Mike) of South Carolina, special cousin Marlene Huffman of Roanoke.

Beverley was a graduate of William Fleming High School and a member of the Golden Colonials. She graduated from the old Lewis Gale Hospital School of Radiology Technologist. Beverley worked for the department of radiology at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley and later as a receptionist at Oakey's North Chapel. She worked with the Miss Virginia Pageant for 25 yrs. Past treasurer and president of the Valley Junior Woman's Club, member of North Roanoke Baptist Church, the Rebekah S.S. Class, 4 yr old Sunday School teacher and member of the Choirs thru the years. She was a wonderful person and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be truly missed by all.

Beverley was a 29 year breast cancer survivor, but lost her battle with colon cancer, fighting for four years.

Memorials may be made to North Roanoke Baptist Church (Building Fund), 6402 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, February 17, 2012, at North Roanoke Baptist Church. Dr. Darryl G. Crim and Samuel E. Harper will officiate. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Oakey's North Chapel.
