"It is certified that the records of this office show that D- Chambers was commissioned Colonel of the Third Regiment - Hunterdon County; New Jersey Militia June 19, 1776; Commissioned Colonel of a Battalion of State Troops November 27, 1776; Commissioned Colonel of the Second Regiment - New Jersey Militia Sept. 9 1777; and that he resigned May 28, 1779 - during the Revolutionary War. seal. signed W. S. Stryker."
Colonel David Chambers had 12 children. A son, Clark married Mary Guild. His daughter, Rose married John Fisher.
