Rufus Evans met with an accident which resulted in death at his home near Oak Dale last Sunday. It will be remembered that a little over a year ago while climbing through a gate he caught the toe of his boot in the gate and fell to the ground, his knee struck a rock breaking the knee cap. He was a cripple ever since and had to go about on crutches most of the time. Last Sunday while in some way engaged with a horse the animal crowded against him, breaking the wounded knee and death resulted from lock jaw on Monday about 5 o'clock a. m. Deceased was a good citizen who stood high in his community. A wife, six daughters and one son are left to mourn his loss.
