FRANK X. KRAUS, PIONEER, CALLED TO HIS REWARD
Dies Suddenly from Heart Trouble At His Home This Morning.
Frank X. Kraus, aged resident and pioneer of this section, died suddenly from heart trouble at his home west of town at 8 o'clock this morning. He was 73 years old at the time of his death.
He had been ailing for the past few days, but felt some better yesterday and when he arose from bed this morning. He was working in the chicken house when he fell. Help was summoned but before reaching the house with him he had passed away.
Mr. Kraus was born in Austria- Hungary and came to this country when he was but one year old. His first home here was made in Kansas with his parents. He came to this section 28 years ago where he has resided continuously ever since.
Besides his widow there are five children to mourn his loss. They are: Mrs. Fred Smith of Wilder; Mrs. Sam Ross of Boise; Mrs. F.H. Townley and Mrs. Ben Ross of Weiser,a nd Jospeh Kraus of Nampa.
Mr. Kraus was of the pioneer type of man and numbered his friends in this section by the hundreds.
Funeral arrangements have not as yet been announed.

KRAUS FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Frank Xavier Kraus, prominent Weiser resident, were held Wednesday afternoon at the home a short distance west of Weiser. Burial took place in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Kraus was born in Austria, January 11, 1850. He came to this country when a small boy and after spending a few years in New York, Chicago, Missouri and Kansas, moved to Seattle. He came to this section 28 years ago.
He died Monday of heart failure, the direct cause being a bursted blood vessel. Death came suddenly and without warning. He was working about his place when suddenly he was attacked.
The services were in charge of the Rev. G.A. Taggart.
