Edna Nadine Capps, 92, of Benton passed away Monday morning, Jan. 21, 2013, in Portage, Ind.

She was born in Creal Springs on June 27, 1920, the daughter of Jerome and Rose (Cagle) Donelson. She married Waymon Capps on June 14, 1940, in Charleston, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1998.

Mrs. Capps was a member of the First Baptist Church of West City.

She is survived by her son, Darryl Capps and wife, Pat, of Portage, Ind.; four grandchildren, Donna Capps (whom Edna raised) of Griffith, Ind., Deanna Capps of Fort Myers, Fla., David Capps of Valparaiso, Ind., and Lisa Chlumsky of Fort Myers, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, DJ Capps, Alexandra Chlumsky, Nicky Chlumsky and Lauren Chlumsky.

Mrs. Capps was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Donald Capps; six sisters; one brother; and one half brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with burial in the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
