Mrs. Lucy Washington Webb, one of Norfolk’s most estimable ladies, died at her home in that city suddenly yesterday morning. Mrs. W. was the widow of Dr. Lewis W. Webb, formerly of this city, a son of Commodore Webb of the old navy. Mrs. Webb had many friends in this city and was a woman ripe in good deeds as well as years. She was a sister of Cols. John Bell and Chas. P. Bigger, of Richmond.

Funeral of Mrs. Webb

The funeral of Lucy Washington Webb, widow of Mrs. Lewis W. Webb, took place yesterday at 12:30 o’clock from the residence, No. 144 York Street, and was largely attended. The obsequies were conducted by Rev. Arthur S. Lloyd, of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and the interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. There was a beautiful display of flowers. The following were pall-bearers: Messrs. Wm. B. Rogers, Samuel P. Moore, L. Clay Kilby, George E. Bowden, R. G. Banks, Wm. M. Hannah, James E. Heath and John R. Ludlow.
