Funeral services will be Thursday, June 15 at 10 a.m. in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with David Minson, Church of Christ minister from Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
He was born August 25, 1910 in Old Beaver City, Oklahoma. Orphaned at the age of 12, he was reared by an older sister and brother. He graduated from Booker High School, where he played sports. He married Maggie Margaret HARPER in 1933 in Booker.
He was a farmer, then worked for Phillips Copolymer Rubber Plant in Borger from 1952 until retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie, of the home; two sons, Jerry RUSH of Amarillo and Travis RUSH of Masterson; two daughters, Marquetta JOINER of Pampa and Roe Jean DIXON of Masterson; one brother, Delmer RUSH of Amarillo; three sisters, Cleo SELL of Amarillo, Ethel RECTOR of Kingston, Oklahoma and Zelma AMEND of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to New Mexico Children's Home, Westar Rt. Box 48, Portales, NM, 88130.
