DIED.—At the residence of her son, N. P. Kair, Providence township, Buena Vista county, Iowa, Jan. 29, 1898, MRS. MAREN KAIR, aged 78 years and 2 months. Miss Maren Peterson, was born in Schleswig, Germany, Nov. 29, 1819. She was married to Mr. Niss N. Kair in 1840, who died June 21, 1866. She moved to Iowa with her son in 1873, where she resided until her death. They had nine children, of whom six are left to mourn her loss—three sons and three daughters. Her daughters are Mrs. P. Gregerson, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mrs. Carolina Christian, of Dos Palos, California; and Mrs. Carrie Johnson, of Seattle, Washington. Her sons are Peter Kair, of Empire City, Nevada-, George Kair, of Mexico, and N. P. Kair, of Providence township. Funeral services were held at the Danish Lutheran church Monday afternoon, Jan. 31, 1898, and the remains were laid to rest at the Newell cemetery.∼KAIR Maren (Mrs.) 11-29-1819 1-29-1898
