A Gridley native, Mrs. Johns was born Oct. 29, 1919, to S.F. and Luella Van Dam Wilcox. She later married Leland Farr Johns. After living in Sacramento for many years, they retired in 1977 and returned to Gridley. Her husband died in 1985.
Mrs. Johns worked as a grocery clerk until she retired, at which time she became active in the Women of the Moose and the Pink Ladies at the Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital. As recently as 1992, she had served as Telecare chairman of that auxiliary.
She is survived by a sister, Marvilla Little of Gridley; and a brother, Virden Ray Wilcox of Castro Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
