George E. Coombs, 66, of 1628 Walnt st., died at his home yesterday following an illness of 6 months.
He retired sevral years ago after working 25 years at Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Mr. Coombs was born in Chester and lived here all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Mary McCrystle Coombs; 2 sons, George E. Jr. and Robert of Chester; 4 daughters, Mrs. Harry Leonard, Mrs. Walter Clark and Mrs. Michael Kane of Chester, and Mrs. Harold Loveland of Crum Lynne; 9 grandchildren, a brother, Charles, of Upper Darby and a sister, Mrs. Charles Williamson of Chester.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Ray F. Imschweiler funeral home, 1600 Edgmont av. Burial will be in Chester Rural Cemetery. Firends may call tomorrow evening.
