Mr. Billy Dale Reece, age 76, of Boonville passed away on Thursday January 24, 2013.
He was born December 28, 1936 in Yadkin County to the late Charlie and Toy Willard Reece.
Mr. Reece retired from R.J.R. Archer and attended Forbush Friends Meeting. Since his retirement he enjoyed bird hunting, wood working and raising a garden that he shared with friends and neighbors, especially his tomatoes and watermelons.
Mr. Reece was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Odell and Jack.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carolyn Hicks Reece, two daughters, Crystal and Husband Michael Holcomb of Boonville, Amber and husband, Bruce Ashford of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Ingool, Erica Ashford, Bryan Ashford and Blaine Casstevens; two step-grandchildren, Ayla and Austin Holcomb; great-granddaughters, Lily and Ella Ingool; brothers, Fred (Mary Ruth) James (Virginia), David (Sherlie), Donald (Kathy), and sister, Patsy Branch, one brother-in-law, Joseph (Maria) Hicks and several nieces, nephews; and his "Adopted" Son, Jerry Jester and many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:30 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation Sunday at 4:30 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Michael Thames and Rev. Lee Lane. Burial will follow in Deep Creek Friends Church Cemetery.
