On November 14, 2005, Dorothy B. Wehmeyer passed into the welcome company of family gone to prepare the way before her; she was 86. Born in Puyallup, WA June 10, 1919, she graduated from high school there in 1937 and lived the active life of a military wife and mother until retirement returned her to Puyallup in 1960. Her son, Rick, her long term caregiver, and her daughters Stephanie Alves and Julie Vogel, helped to make her comfortable in her final hours. She was known to her loved ones as "Dot", chief prankster in a family of jokesters; she loved playing cards with friend and family. Her husband, Senior Master Sergeant Steven Wehmeyer, preceded her in death, as did her beloved parents and give of her six siblings. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, DeDe and Bill Wanden; her children, Stephanie (Jerry) Alves, Julie (Gunter) Vogel, and Rick Wehmeyer (and partner Scott Stilson); 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren. By any measure, she enjoyed a full, wonderful life. There will be a celebration on her life on Saturday, November 19, 2005, form 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm., in the Garden Room at the Panorama City Restaurant in Olympia.

In lieu of flowers, Dot requested donations be made to your favorite charity.
