Son of Thomas, Thomas³, Thomas², Michael¹ Griswold.

Ezra, b. in Guilford, Conn., Dec. 10, 1753, (Thomas, Thomas³, Thomasl², Michael¹ Griswold); m. in Guildford, Dec. 25, 1777, Mehitable Cleveland, of Long Island, b. Jan. 16, 1757, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Horton) Cleveland, and descendant of Moses Cleveland, who arrived about 1635, and settled in Woburn, Mass., became a man of considerable prominence, and identified with all political movements of that time. Mehitable died June 11, 1811, age 54.

They resided in Guilford where he owned a farm and home on the original Boston Post road, which still remains in its original condition, a fine example of a Colonial home. Census of 1790 shows wife and five children..

His will, July 29, 1814, Guilford Probate records, mentions son George; Polly and Nathaniel Ruggles Landon; Sally, Fanny, and Amanda Griswold. He died Mar. 4, 1813 ae. 61. Burials on Guilford Green..
