Born in Brecknock Township the son of the
late Horace and Mamie Gehman Groff, he was the husband of Emma Good Groff, who died in 1987.
He was a retired materials inspector for the state Department of Transportation. A member of Pine Grove Mennonite Church in Bowmansville, he also was a member of the Bowmansville Golden Age Club and the Lancaster County Firemen's Association.
He was an avid hunter.
Surviving are two daughters, Elmira M., wife of Rufus E. Good of New Holland, and Erla G., wife of J. Roy Wise of Bowmansville; four grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren;
two brothers, Arthur J. Groff of Mohnton and Ray Groff of Bowmansville; and three sisters, Esther Good and Eleanor, wife of Charles B. Lane, both of Bowmansville, and Charlotte, wife of Marvin A. Good of Sebring, Fla.
