LEXINGTON - Graveside services for Myrtle Wofford Barnes , 92, of Lexington, will be held at noon today in Elmwood Cemetery, conducted by Reverend Pete Cassidy. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge.
Mrs. Barnes , widow of Liston B. Barnes, died Thursday, October 5, 2000. Born in Woodruff, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Henry C. and Ada Plowden Wofford. She was a member of State Street Baptist Church, and had been a local resident since 1932. Mrs. Barnes was retired from Lexington County School District #2, where she taught elementary school for 35 years in Cayce and was a graduate of Winthrop College.
Surviving is her brother, Frank W. Wofford of Coupeville, Wash.
