Celia A. Anderson (1915-2013)

Celia Anderson passed away Jan. 22, 2013 at the age of 97, of age related causes. She was born Sept. 27, 1915 in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, to parents, Robert F. Hoffman and Stella Mae (Sutton) Hoffman. She lived in the Eugene area most of her life.

She and her brothers and sister grew up on a farm and attended schools in Pleasant Hill. Later she worked and lived in Eugene, where she met and married Charles 'Chuck' Anderson on July 5, 1942. Shortly thereafter, Charles joined the Army Air Corps in WWII and Celia followed him to his state side stations. She enjoyed seeing new places and had no problem finding work everywhere they went. After the war ended they returned to Eugene. They enjoyed 62 years together before Charles passed away in 2004. Celia and Chuck both loved to fish the Oregon streams and lakes and they did so for many years. Celia also enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, arts & crafts, bible study and trips to the Oregon coast. Rock hounding along the Oregon beaches was another favorite. She was a homemaker most of her life, except for a time in real estate during the early 1960's.

She had one sister Elva and three brothers, Floyd, Paul, and John. All preceded her in death.

Survivors are a son, Mark Anderson of Eugene and a step-son, she considered a son, Andy Anderson of Coarse Gold, CA.

The last five years she resided at Farmington Square of Eugene where she enjoyed living and meeting new people. She loved and considered the staff there as her extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held at Eugene Friends Church, 3495 W. 18th, Saturday, February 16th at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Eugene Friends Church or to a favorite charity.
